Creative Educator - Say the change, be the change

Wednesday, March 17th, 2010

If you don’t get Creative Educator magazine, you should! Edited by Melinda Kolk, my friend for many many years (ever since she was at HyperStudio and I was at Knowledge Adventure), this is a wonderful print and online magazine published by Tech4Learning. Tech4Learning makes brilliant creativity software for K-12 schools and the magazine supports creativity and construction in the K-12 classroom.

I have an article in the current issue (Spring 2010) called Say the Change You Want to See, based on a blog post from a couple of months ago. The article is about how educators can plan for the changes they want, even those much-desired wishes that sometimes go unspoken.

There are lots of other great articles in the magazine, including:

And one more thing - it’s FREE! Even the print version is free, so choose whatever version works for you: online articles, full screen online flipbook, subscribe to receive a print version by mail, or PDF to print out and pass around.

Constructivist Celebration at MACUL

Thursday, February 4th, 2010

The Constructivist Consortium in partnership with SIGTELE is bringing the popular Constructivist Celebration to Michigan! Plan to join in this MACUL pre-conference learning experience on Wednesday, March 10, 2010 in Grand Rapids. Participants will receive the day’s educational program, a hearty lunch and free software from Constructivist Consortium members, including five free tools from Tech4Learning: Pixie, Frames, WebBlender, Twist, and ImageBlender.

This hugely popular workshop, also offered as a pre-conference event at the National Education Computing Conference (NECC/ISTE) sells out quickly each year. Don’t miss your chance to learn with the best at this full-day, hands-on workshop led by Constructivist Consortium co-directors Melinda Kolk and Gary Stager.

More information and registration here.

If you aren’t convinced, read this article (PDF) by Mary Saffron,
SIG TeleLearning Communications Officer about her experience at the NECC Constructivist Celebration in the latest MACUL Journal.

If you are in the Grand Rapids area or are attending MACUL, be sure to add this event to your conference registration!
