Generation Y and Standards
Generation Y supports standards in several ways.
1. Technology Standards - Generation Y curriculum
is correlated to the ISTE National
Educational Technology Standards (NETS) for students standards.

2. Curriculm Standards - Each Gen Y project
is aligned to the state or local content area standards.
- As part of the Gen Y curriculum, students learn about standards
and how they relate to lesson plans and outcomes.
- As the projects are planned and built, the Gen Y online Project Organizing
and Reporting Tool (PORT) guides the correlation process. The
result is that the technology-enhanced lessons they create are
aligned to state content and curriculum standards through the PORT.
- In addition, the Generation YES consultant who reviews every
project will provide feedback on standards correlation and offer
suggestions for strengthening that connection.
Therefore every lesson the student and
partner-teacher create is correlated to content standards.
3. State Standards - Generation Y has been
correlated to both middle and high school required technology objectives for the state of Texas.
Students taking Gen Y in Texas meet the same requirements that Computers Science 1 provides.
