 Objectives
 

Objectives for Partner Teacher's Students:
Following the completion of this project, students in my partner class will be able to learn about protecting the environment from a multimedia presentation that incorporates, text, graphics, and audio. They will also use PowerPoint to get ideas for their individual projects on protecting the environment.

Objectives for Partner-Teacher:
Following the completion of this project, my partner teacher will be able to use a computer-based resource to support her teaching. She will also have learned enough about how to develop a Powerpoint presentation to know whether she would like to create additional presentations on other topics in her curriculum.

Objectives for Gen www.Y Student:
Following the completion of this project, I will be able to create a well designed multimedia presentation using PowerPoint. I will have learned how to scan and import graphic images and sound files into PowerPoint, and research and write captions and other text to support the graphics.


 Materials and Equipment Requirements
 

Hardware:
Pentium II PC running Windows 95
Labtec speakers Umax scanner
HP 890 network printer
CD-ROM Drive

Software:
Word Excel Paint
Netscape (locate pictures)
Encarta
Microsoft Office 97 (PowerPoint)

Other:
Boxlight Presentation Projector
Scott, Foresman "Discover Science" Textbook


 Procedures:
 

1. We will identify the science chapter that we plan to introduce.

2. We will create a storyboard of the chapter.

3. We will identify pictures or drawings that we want to use.

4. We will scan the pictures and place them on the server for easy access later.

5. We will set up PowerPoint with the necessary number of slides, then import the scanned pictures.

6. We will write captions that relate to the pictures that we scanned.

7. We will cut and paste the captions into PowerPoint.

8. We will utilize options that Powerpoint provides and spruce up the presention.

9. We will present the presentation to our classmates.


 Assessment Plan
 

I will assess the impact of all of my project objectives by the ease with which my partner-teacher can use our presentation to introduce the Science unit.
