Dear STUDENT X, Congratulations on being a Gen.www.Y students. The thinking, organizing, listing of procedures, and carrying out of a project are tremendous skills to develop as a life-long learning process.

As a consultant. I look at your project proposal in two ways: I first look at the Ideas and Concepts you have that you want to use and teach with, and then I look at you Objectives, Procedures, and Assessments to see if they all fit together to make this happen.

The suggestions I have made are in brackets and all capital letters (LIKE THIS). Some of the suggestions have to do with some writing skills, like spelling, capitalization, or complete sentences. Other suggestions have to do with the content of your proposal. My suggestions are only suggestions and are to assist in making your project the best it can be. You may choose not to use the suggestions.

You seem very organized and I cannot tell if your spelling errors are indeed errors or typos. Always check your spelling. I like the use of both teacher and student feedback in assessment. I have some suggestions that should make that information a little more meaningful. Assessments should refer directly to all of the objectives and include a standard of measurement.

You need to go back after you have gone over the objectives and then make sure that each part is accounted for in your assessment. I like to recommend that for your own objectives you include a rating scale for how well you did to reach you objectives. You can set the standard yourself and then you will also have set a goal for yourself. We all tend to do better work that way. A rubric scale is a good way to get your feedback from everyone involved. You just need to describe how a good project can be recognized. Find something that works well for you and then use it consistently. Good luck on your project. You will have fun learning about all the materials you will be putting together for your teacher. I think you have an interesting project proposal. This is one of the most well-thought out projects I have seen for a while. GO FOR IT!

 Conventions

Strong
Your proposal demonstrates strong control of such writing conventions as punctuation, spelling, capitalization, grammar and usage, and uses them effectively to enhance communication. Errors are so few and so minor that they do not interfere with readability. Your writing is characterized by:

• strong control of conventions
• effective use of punctuation that guides the reader through the text
• correct spelling, even of more difficult words
• correct capitalization; errors, if any, are minor
• correct grammar and usage that contributes to clarity and style
• little need for editing.

 Organization

STRONG
The main theme of your project is well supported by the information provided in each section of the proposal form. All sections of the form are completed with detail and accuracy. Your proposal is characterized by:

• project objectives which are fully, though perhaps not individually addressed by the procedural steps
• Procedural steps which demonstrate skillful task analysis
• Assessment strategies which address each of the original objectives for the projects.

 Ideas & Conventions

Strong
The proposal is clear, focused and interesting. A reader would have little trouble replicating the project from its written description. It demonstrates a clear understanding of the underlying principles of the Generation www.Y model. The successfully completed project will contribute to the enhanced use of technology in the school environment. The writing is characterized by:

• clarity, focus, and control
• clearly stated and appropriate objectives
• supporting, relevant, carefully selected details
• a thorough and balanced procedural description
• content that is well-suited to the audience and purpose (i.e., posting to the Gen www.Y Web site).
