Generation Did

A Gen Did is a student who has successfully completed the Gen www.Y course or has demonstrated expertise working with technology and people. This curriculum can be used as a full year elective course, a semester elective course or as a school club. The course consists of four major modules: (1) identifying and developing leadership skills, (2) perspectives on local community leadership, (3) advanced technology skills, and (4) community service. These modules provide the opportunity for students to become proactive leaders through the extensive use of advanced technology.

The Gen Did course provides a vehicle for students to use their technology expertise to benefit not only their school but their community. The Gen Did student develops a major project either within their school or with non profit organizations in their community. These projects will typically use advanced technology skills.

The Gen Did web site allows the Gen Did teacher to develop a customized contract for his or her students to use. The Gen Did students develop this contract which they will implement by the end of the class. Gen Dids throughout the country will have access to all contracts as well as forums and chat sessions related to the technologies and organizations they are working with.
