GenYES and Standards
GenYES supports standards in several ways.
Technology Standards
GenYES curriculum is correlated to the ISTE National Educational Technology Standards (NETS) for students standards.
Curriculm Standards
Major GenYES projects that result in classroom lessons are aligned to the state or local content area standards.
- As part of GenYES, students learn about standards and how they relate to lesson plans and outcomes.
- As the projects are planned and built, the GenYES online tools help guide the correlation process. The result is that the technology-enhanced lessons GenYES students and teachers create are aligned to state content and curriculum standards.
Every lesson the student and partner-teacher create is correlated to content standards.
State Standards
GenYES has been correlated to both middle and high school required technology objectives for the state of Texas. Students taking GenYES in Texas meet the same requirements that Computers Science 1 provides.
