Generation TECH Team License
This license is designed for small classes, independent study, or Tech TAs. It allows one teacher or advisor to work with up to 8 students. Many schools want to just "try out" a student tech support program. This entry level license meets your needs - and still provides the support of a nationwide program, tested curriculum, and proven tools.
Your TECH Team can provide first level tech support and dramatically impact the level of service offered to the entire school. Even a small team of students can make a big impact.
Consider this: if a team of eight students provided even one solution to one 10-minute tech issue each day, over the course of a year that would be over six weeks of full-time tech support. Six full weeks of time that your professional tech support staff could use to focus on the bigger picture.
Six full weeks of tech support - how much does that cost you?
Generation TECH Class License
This license allows one teacher or advisor to manage a larger class of Generation TECH students, several smaller classes, or a medium-sized Tech TA program.
Some schools incorporate the Generation TECH tools and curriculum into a graphics or web development class, as these tend to focus on independent projects. Using the proven tools on the Generation TECH website can help teachers document and assess these types of classes as well. The class license allows one teacher to use the tools for up to 25 students.
Your Generation TECH class can not only provide tech support, but also tackle long-term issues, such as designing help guides for staff and students, training teachers, or providing implementation support for new hardware.
Consider this: You are planning to use handhelds in your science classrooms this upcoming year. How will your tech support team help teachers learn to use the new equipment, assist them in set-up, synchronizations, lesson preparation, AND keep up the pace on the usual tech support issues? With a Generation TECH class, it's easy. Your trained and trusted Generation TECH students can not only do the set up, but also stay with the classes as they start to use the new equipment, managing the typical problems that occur when new hardware and software is first used. Your Generation TECH students can help the teachers, or even teach the students how to use the new hardware.
How much are you paying for hardware and software that is not being used? Generation TECH can help.
Generation TECH Site License
This license allows several teachers to use the versatile Generation TECH toolset. Often, Generation TECH is run in conjunction with web development, digital photography, or graphic design classes, allowing all teachers to use a common set of tools for project planning, class management, and assessment.
Consider this: Your school is under pressure to assess and prove results, yet still offer courses that provide 21st century skills. Your web development, digital graphic design, and multimedia classes tend to offer these skills, yet are project-based, and therefore more difficult to assess and manage. In addition, these classes strain your tech support resources because they are power users of the equipment, and the students tend to be tech-savvy. How can you keep these classes going in the face of assessment pressures? How can you convince these students that your network is not simply a challenge for them to hack into? What can you offer these teachers to help them manage these classes more effectively?
Generation TECH can help with all these issues. Using the class management tools, multiple teachers can unite their project-based classes and allow more flexibility for students of differing abilities. Incorporating the student-centered and phased support structure of the Generation TECH curriculum means that students see the same pedagogy and tools across these classes. Building a common culture of respect for the system, and offering students ownership of issues allows them to strive to make the school systems safer. Students work with teachers and staff to build the technology of the school in useful ways for all.
Can you afford NOT to give your 21st century classes 21st century tools?
