Units of Study - Eight initial Units are:

2. General Computer Knowledge and Troubleshooting
3. Computer Construction and Component Identification
4. Architecture of the Modern Operating System
5. Introduction to Programming
6. Web Design
7. Building Leadership
8. Building a Portfolio

Additional units of study will be developed by Gen YES staff and Gen SCI affiliates.

Class start up activities

Moderated Gen SCI forums that address the entire class and each of the curriculum units.

Periodic real-time chats with hosted by experts.

News items dealing with technology support issues. Gen SCI affiliates can post their news items on this site

Updated list of web links dealing with technology support issues.

Sample technology skills surveys (pre and post).

Support for recruiting students including sample letters to parents and perspective students.

Sample student projects

How to plan and deliver an end-of-class parent night celebration.

Ability to email Gen SCI staff and teachers who have taught the class.

Gen SCI teachers will be on the Gen SCI listserv and receive regular information and assistance.

Assessment strategies aimed at school, district, and state goals and standards.

Gen YES evaluators can provide both formative and summative evaluations in a variety of formats.
