What GenYES Is
GenYES is a program of Youth and Educators Succeeding, a national nonprofit based in Olympia, WA. Schools typically implement GenYES as a class or club. GenYES prepares students to become Student Technology Leaders through a rigorous, technology-infused leadership curriculum.
What GenYES Does
Schools get tech integration support.
GenYES supports buildings and districts facing high needs with minimal resources by empowering learners to provide meaningful support to teachers, their peers, and others.
Student achievement increases.
Research shows GenYES can offer substantial gains by bridging the student engagement gap. Our project-based, tech-centered program offers unique ways to put learning in action for all learners.
Students practice service-learning.
Combining substantive learning opportunities with meaningful service, GenYES bridges ed tech and community building. Student-driven projects can permanently transform schools.
School culture improves.
By focusing on student learning through action, GenYES can provide all learners with significant opportunities to bridge cultural, academic, and other differences.
Districts lower IT support costs.
GenYES features tangible benefits for K-12 buildings and districts, including a clear and unmatched powerful return on investment. Student partnerships create positive outcomes.
GenYES builds purpose.
Giving students devices is a way to start ed tech, and GenYES shows them how to use technology with purpose and power. Motivation is hard to come by and our program can provide it in droves.
Get GenYES
We offer three ways to get GenYES:
K-12 schools, districts, and state agencies can purchase GenYES directly. As a charitable nonprofit, Youth and Educators Succeeding also partners on grants and provides opportunities for under-funded schools to get GenYES.
Partners connect with GenYES to create special projects that support diversity, equity, and inclusion in educational technology; bridge the gender gap in tech careers; build opportunities for English Language Learners; and more.
Sponsors including corporations, donors, and others, support our program by donating funds to support GenYES in K-12 schools as well as customized approaches to ed tech, student empowerment, and more.
