Procedures
First I met with my partner-teacher, Mrs. Pratt, and we put our heads together and came up with information that would help my project, "LMS Orientation". We came up with so many ideas and had to tie some together or just erase them completely. I added our ideas so I had who all the teachers were and what they teach. Then I put information about our sports, such as volleyball, basketball, track, and football. I also added information about home work study hall, ISS, Reading Renaissance, and Reading Renaissance clubs.

After putting our ideas on Microsoft PowerPoint I explained what I was doing so far with Mrs. Pratt. At that point all I had were words and no graphics.

Next class I added graphics, and I tried to get pictures from a digital camera. What we would put on for a picture would be places inside the school and the school itself. I also wanted to put a picture with some friends of mine because it was really funny. I want the fifth graders to know that we do have a ton of fun in the junior high.

I ended up with a picture of the school for the first page and a picture of some friends on the last page.

I then went and showed Mrs. Pratt so she could help with spelling and grammar. We found just a few mistakes and changed them.

I then went and gave the presentation to the sixth graders as a practice run. It took me at least 3 minutes and 30 seconds.

I had forgotten to add the bibliography so I had to go back and add that. My project is finally done.

I went to Topeka, Kansas, to show my presentation to some judges at the State Student Leadership Conference. I do not know what I placed, but I do know that I didn't make it into the top six.

Student Feelings
Student's pleasant feelings about the project:
I enjoyed working with my partner-teacher, Mrs. Pratt. I also liked learning how to do more things on the computer. In the future I think that PowerPoint will help me and this was a good experience for me.
I love computers and I was really happy to know that we had a class that taught you how to run PowerPoint, make Web pages, and also use HyperStudio. I think that this was the most fun class in the school because you get to use computers.
I also liked it that our teacher took us to Topeka to give our presentations to judges. It was really fun!
Student's unpleasant feelings about the project:
I was a little upset when I was told that I needed to change my procedures. I thought that I had to change my whole presentation! Thankfully we have a great teacher and he told me what she really meant. He said that all I had to do was change what I wrote in that section so that they would know that I did in fact have all the things suggested on my presentation. I just didn't have them on my procedures.
