  Project Title: Strike A Pose
Project Area: English/Language Arts
Generation www.Y Student Grade Level: 8

 Objectives:

Objectives for Partner Teacher's Students:
At the completion of my project the students in my partner-teacher's class will have the ability to use a digital camera successfully, download dictures from the digital camera or the internet, onto photo-finishing software; and able to use the software to enhance future projects.

Objectives for Partner Teacher:
When my project has met its end my partener-teacher will be able to use a digital camera and photo-finishing software in future projects with efficiency.

Objectives for Gen www.Y Student:
After the conclusion of my project I will be able to teach the students to use a digital camera boldly, I will have taught my partner-teacher how to apply a digital camera and software in projects more often.

 Materials & Equipment

Hardware:
Hardware that I will be using during the extent of my project are: digital cameras, computers, and floppy disks.

Software:
The software included in my project is Kai's Photo Soap.

 Procedures:

First, I'll teach the students manually, how to use a digital camera. They will learn the basics, how to insert the disk, take the picture, basically operating the camera. As a follow up project the students will recieve a scavenger hunt, this will give them practice with the camera so they become more comfortable when using it. The hunt will include clues to where they will find certain objects, then they'll have to take a picture of the objects on to a floppy disk.

Secondly, I'll teach the students how to use photo-finishing software, in this case we'll use Kai's Photo Soap. They'll learn the basics of fixing, and enhancing digital photos. From the floppy disk they saved their scavenger-hunt photos on, they'll lean to download their pictures into the software. With these "practice photos" they'll explore the different enhancement, and editing options of the photo program.

Next, the students will receive story-starters. The students will have to weave a short story. To illustrate, the students will have to gather pictures using the internet and/or the digital camera; after that they'll use the photo-finishing software to enhance and edit their pictures.

 Assessment:

Assessment strategies/indicators for my partner teacher's students:
To assess the students I will give them a checklist they will have to complete. By the completion of the checklist, I'll know the level of participation and if they understood the content of my project.

Assessment strategies/indicators for Gen www.Y student:
I will give the partner-teacher and the students surveys to complete, asking questions like: "Did this program help you in any way?"

Assessment strategies/indicators for my partner teacher:
The teacher will recive a rubric to evaluate me on with a section for questions and comments.
