After completing a series of exercises designed to create eye-hand coordination, the students were required to draw their hand in at least two different positions They were encouraged to overlap, draw life sized or bigger, and to extend the drawing off the edges of the paper
The students looked at the cubistic art of Lyonel
Feininger to get an idea of what they were about to create.
They practiced the shading technique on scrap paper.
